In Praise of Glacier Tomatoes

7 Aug

“Glacier is consistently the earliest tomato in our garden, as early as Stupice and with much better flavor. I would call it mainstream heirloom flavor – good red tomato flavor. The fruits are not large, say halfway between a regular tomato and a cherry, the size (and flavor) of an English tomato if you have ever experienced one. And it continues to produce abundantly all through the growing season; when we pull up our tomatoes at the end of the season, our harvest of glaciers outweighs the rest of the tomatoes combined.” —  Bill Bruneau, BG founder and employee
