The Seed Savers Exchange and members of the Organic Seed Alliance have combined their accumulated knowledge of seed saving to bring you the most up-to-date book on seed saving available. This book is an essential reference for seed saving at any level. At the same time it is pretty enough to be a coffee table book.

The first third of the book completely describes seed saving techniques and how you do them. The other two thirds of the book give you detailed seed saving information for the 75 most important crops – pretty much everything you would be likely to grow, including major grains like wheat, rice and buckwheat that other seed saving books do not cover.

I particularly like the small sections called Master Class, short topics covered well with text and pictures. Examples are “Hand pollination of squash”, “Harvesting tomato seeds”, and “Germination Testing at Home”
